Faculty

Two bars are enough.

Two bars are enough to hear whether the right hand is leading or merely keeping up, and whether the time is solid or being rescued. That is why every academic year comes with a person — the same one throughout.

  1. One-to-one teaching

You arrange appointments directly with your tutor, usually every two to four weeks. How many sessions remain this year is shown on every page of the platform.
  2. Playing analysis

Between appointments you can submit a recording at any time. The reply is written and specific: what to do, in what order — not how good it was.
  3. Examinations

Every end-of-term exam is assessed by your own tutor and a second person from the faculty. The four-eyes principle is deliberate: work with someone for two years and you become lenient.
  4. Academic leadership of the faculty

The drum faculty is led by Jakob Zenzen. He is responsible for what is taught, in what order, and what the examinations require.

The tutors

The faculty is being staffed for the coming intakes. Each person will be introduced here with a portrait, a specialism and a background — not as a list of names, but so that you know in advance who you will be working with.

Where a card carries no name, the post is still being filled. We do not put anybody there who is not.

Apply to us now.

One video, a few questions, done. A tutor watches your playing and replies in writing — with what to work on next, and with which of the three routes fits you. If you would rather write than play, that works too.
