Stefanos Dimitriou

Stefanos Dimitriou has been among the experienced session and live drummers of the Greek music scene for several decades. He worked for eight years with the rock legend Vasilis Papakonstantinou and has played with artists such as Haris Alexiou, George Dalaras and Michalis Hatzigiannis.

His career has taken him to concert stages and festivals in Greece and abroad; in 2001 he also played concerts with the Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. In parallel he has been a member of various jazz and fusion groups, among them Loud Jazz, Trias and the power trio with Yiotis Kiourtsoglou and Stavros Lantsias, and has featured as a sideman on numerous international recordings.

Alongside his work as a professional drummer he has been active for many years as an educator and clinician, combining stage and studio experience with an understanding of jazz, rock, pop and modern rhythmic work.
