Katrin Hahner
Katrin Hahner is an interdisciplinary artist who works in and in between music, visual art and performance — sometimes with tangible material such as clay or wood, sometimes with words, space and sound.
Her education includes a three-year diploma in stage acting and theatre, a Master of Fine Arts from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart and two years of postgraduate study at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee.
Her four releases of original music have been featured in The Guardian, Rolling Stone, the BBC, Kulturspiegel and Süddeutsche Zeitung, and her projects have been funded by Pact Zollverein, the Mondriaan Funds, Initiative Musik, the Goethe Institut and Musikfonds among others. She has performed and exhibited at Akureyri Art Museum, Hafnarborg Museum Iceland, Extreme Chill Festival, People Festival Berlin and Reykjavik Art Festival.
In 2022 she joined the PRATT NY Mindfulness Collaboratory cohort alongside fifty artists and arts professionals researching the connection between mindfulness and innovation. She holds a PG Cert in Higher Education and teaches performance and lyricism as a senior lecturer at BIMM University Berlin.
